Advance Preparation
If you have installed UnityHub with UnityEditor(2021.3.16f1) prior to purchasing RPG MAKER UNITE, installation will proceed smoothly.
- Please install UnityHub from the official Unity website
- Please install Unity Editor (2021.3.16f1). Refer to this section for details.

The Setup Screen
In the event that RPG MAKER UNITE cannot find any Unity tools after launch, then the Setup Screen will be displayed.
The information displayed will depend on the specific computer currently being used.
There are three (3) prerequisites before RPG MAKER UNITE can be used. Use this screen to confirm that all 3 are detected properly.
◆If Unity Hub is not installed.
Please refer to Install Unity Hub below.
◆If Unity Editor is not installed.
Please refer to Install Unity Editor below.
◆If a Unity ID and license is not found.

If you already have a Unity ID
Please refer to the Sign in to Unity Hub to obtain a license section below.
Once all 3 conditions are met, you may need to press "Rechecking Unity status" button to verify the status and be able to proceed to the next step.
Install Unity Hub
Click "Install Unity Hub" to launch the Unity Hub installer.
Follow the setup wizard to proceed with the installation.

Unity Hub will start and you will see this screen.
Users must sign in with an account in order to continue with installation and receive a license.
Please refer to the "Obtain a Unity ID" and "Sign in to Unity Hub to obtain a license" sections for additional information.

When the display switches to "Unity Hub installation found." then installation of Unity Hub is considered complete. If installation has been performed but an "X" is still displayed, please press the "Rechecking Unity status" button to perform a new validation check.
If Unity Hub has been installed but is not being detected, please check the following potential issues:
- The installation path has a problem.
The pay may contain unsupported Character-codes or symbols. Try installing to a path which consists of only alpha-numeric characters. (eg. c:\unityHub) - The system registry may not have updated correctly.
In rare cases, installation information cannot be pulled from the system registry.
The installation information has been corrupted or become invalid for some reason. This can be caused after a file path change.
Regardless of the reason, please try re-installing Unity Hub and rebooting your PC, as this should resolve the issue. Please contact us using our Contact Form if these typical troubleshooting methods were unable to resolve your issue.
Install Unity Editor
Once Unity Hub is installed, you will be able to select "Install recommended version of Unity Editor via Unity Hub." Pressing this button will automatically open the Unity Hub and display the Editor install screen.
Click "Install" to start download and installation automatically.
The status of the download and installation will be displayed. The process will continue automatically until completion.
*If the User Account Control screen appears during the process, click "Yes.

When "Unity Editor installation was found." is displayed, installation is complete. If installation has been performed but an "X" is still displayed, please press the "Rechecking Unity status" button to perform a new validation check.
If it fails to detect the installation status automatically after the installation of Unity Hub was completed, select "Specify Unity Hub directly".
You can proceed by selecting the executable (exe) of Unity Hub from the selection dialog.
Although we assume this issue might be caused by the following reasons, please contact us from our Contact Form if they were unable to solve it.
- Unity Editor was not installed from Unity Hub
A problem may happen if Unity Editor was installed without Unity Hub.
Since we recommend that Unity Hub manages the editors, please re-install the editor following the procedures. - It fails to get information from Unity Hub

Please check the installation path of Unity Hub and the installation procedures. - The installation path has a problem
Mostly it contains Character-codes or certain symbols. It might be solved by installing to a path which consists of only alpha-numerical characters. (eg. c:\unityHub) - The registry information has a problem
This may happen when it cannot get an installation information from the registry.
The installation information was broken for some reason. It might be caused when the file path was changed.
Obtain a Unity ID
Clicking "Go to Unity ID registration site" will open a web browser tab for the Unity ID creation page.
If you do not have a Unity ID, you will need to create an ID.
If you do not have a Unity ID, you will need to create an ID.
You will receive a verification email to the email address you entered in the "Email" field.
Click on "Link to confirm email" in the email you receive to obtain your Unity ID.
Sign in to Unity Hub to obtain a license
Once you have your UnityID, click "Sign in" on the Unity Hub to sign in.
After signing in, you may be prompted to install UnityEditor.
Since the installation has already been completed, click "Skip installation.

Next, obtain a license. Click on "Manage Licenses" in the upper right corner.
Click "Add license" when the license screen appears.
Each license will be displayed. Here, click on "Get a free personal license" (free).
The license agreement will be displayed. After confirming the agreement, click "Agree and get personal edition license". Click "Agree and get personal edition license.
Now you need to return to the RPG MAKER UNITE launcher.
When "Unity license file verified." is displayed, license registration is complete. If a license has been created but an "X" is still displayed, please press the "Rechecking Unity status" button to perform a new validation check.
Completing Unity Setup Completed
Once all three items are confirmed, you will be able to press "Complete Setup" and proceed on to creating your first project.
When this screen appears, you are ready to use RPG MAKER UNITE.
