[RPG Maker Unite Windows]
The various screens in RPG Maker Unite are quite a bit different from past entries in the RPG Maker series.
The 3 main windows are RPG Maker, RPG Scene Preview, and RPG Settings.
Another window will also appear at the bottom of the RPG Scene Preview, with its contents varying depending on what you are currently editing.
[RPG Maker]
The area highlighted by the red box is the RPG Maker window.
Other areas of the screen will change depending on which item here has been selected for editing.
The creation and deletion of maps, actors, skills, weapons, and enemies can be done here.
Items in the RPG Maker window fall into two main categories: the Database and the Outline.
The Database contains everything you need to make the individual parts for your game, while the Outline helps you put them all together.
[RPG Scene Preview]
In the middle of the screen, you will find the RPG Scene Preview.
It will show a flowchart when editing the Outline, the map screen when editing maps, and the title screen when editing the title.
[RPG Settings]
The right side of the screen shows the RPG Settings window.
This will display various settings for the item selected in the RPG Maker window.
It's the RPG Settings window that gets used the most when making games in RPG Maker Unite.
[File Selection Window]
When registering map tiles, the File Selection window will appear at the bottom of the RPG Scene Preview.
You can select any file in this window and register it as one or more map tiles.
Files listed in the File Selection window have already been imported into RPG Maker Unite.
If you wish to register map tiles from a new image, click the "Load Tile Image" button and select the desired image file.
[Tile Window]
When editing a map, the map tiles that are available for use will appear in this window.
From here you can select and edit the parallax, background, layers A through D, and the shadow layer of your map.
When selecting layers A though D, you can pull up any of the map tiles you previously registered in RPG Maker Unite.
You can also save each layer as a tile group.
[Event Editor and Actions]
When entering commands in the Event Editor, the individual actions will appear at the bottom of the RPG Scene Preview.
With this, you can edit event commands while checking the map that's displayed above them.
