Can't change font in Unity 6 and can't use system fonts in Unity 2021.3.45
Okay so I've faced this issue before and I couldn't get it to work then and I can't now.
So in an install using Unity 6 on a windows 11 home PC I cannot get the font to change - all it does is start importing the already imported font file and then hangs at skybox shader (or something like that - I'll get screenshots in a second). I think it might be a permissions thing potentially but it's driving me crazy, I've tried manually installing a font within Unity and it doesn't show up on the drop down - the weird thing is there are fonts on the drop down that aren't on my system and it doesn't reflect any of my installed fonts.
I've had this going for an hour
The fonts are there but it doesn't register them
Plus they're not processing the glyphs etc - I can manually update this to no avail
Apart from having to update any image I upload to single and 96 pixels other stuff is working.
Thinking this might be a Unity6 issue I installed 2021.3.45 and yes I can change the fonts but I've got no idea why it isn't picking up any installed fonts at all. I get these are file names and not font names which is also irritating but not a huge problem (I wrote some code to get the proper names and that broke everything font related again - why is RPG maker Unite so delicate?!?!?)
I also tried adding a font to the registry and that didn't help show up either.
I've reinstalled several times, reinstalled fonts etc
At any rate I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction to troubleshoot this - no it's not that I don't know how to use RPG Maker Unite - it's not working the way it is supposed to.

I understand your struggle.
RPG MAKER UNITE is very sensitive.
I have experienced similar font problems.
Here are some methods I have used myself.
Please try the following methods.
These are the only solutions I know.
① Change the version to '2021.3.16f1' and rebuild the font information.
The version of UNITY recommended by the developer is '2021.3.16f1'.
1-a Change the version back to '2021.3.16f1'.
1-b It is necessary to rebuild the font information.
Please refer to this. Please refer to the image at the link.
"Window" → "Import TMP Essential Resources" → "Import"1-C If the font is not fixed, restart the software.
② Create a new project.2-a Launch RPG MAKER UNITE. The launcher screen will appear.
Create a new project.
2-b
The data for this software is stored in the following location:
『(project name) / Assets / RPGMaker / Storage』Overwrite the newly created project backup folder's "Storage" with "Old storage".
(Transfers the active project files)2-C Start a new project.

thanks @ryuusinn for responding and for having patience - the problem still exists - it just doesn't read all my system fonts but I've just given up and chosen one of the available fonts. I'm just annoyed because I can import a font into text mesh pro with reasonable ease. It just feels like Unite is actively making font management harder than it needs to be.
Anyway maybe it'll get fixed in a future release.
