Importing character images

Hello. I am having trouble understanding the "Character Related image" Article about importing characters. I am using Gimp2 to edit my characters walking animations on the map. Every time I export the image back in to the game it shows a red background around the character. I even tried using an unedited Actor_Walk image where I imported the file into my Gimp2 and merely exported the same unedited file back into the game. But i still manage to get a red background surrounding my character in game. Not sure why its so intricate now. I use to import and export new images in older RPG makers like MV with a fully transparent background and it worked perfectly. Anyone know what's going on?

  There seems to be a problem with Gimp2. I tried using Photoshop and its working perfectly now. I am able to adjust/edit character sprite/animation PNG easily now.

  Glad you got it figured out. I use GIMP and mine export with transparency just fine. I think in the layer you need to specify a transparent layer or something like that.
